Goal(s)

Continuum mechanics is a tool for mathematically modelling deformable material bodies (solids or fluids). It provides a basis for the study of a variety of subjects that are subsequently derived from it, such as :

  • Strength of materials: elasticity, plasticity
  • Fluid mechanics: Newtonian fluids, non-Newtonian fluids

Responsible(s)

Gael COMBE

Content(s)

  • Why Continuum Mechanics
  • Tensors and Continuum Mechanics
