Advanced Energy Systems and AI at Grenoble INP – Ense3
Combine urban planning, energy management, in-depth engineering skills, leading edge mobility solutions and innovation management techniques. The joint master's programme in Advanced Energy Systems and AI enables students to play a critical role in shaping a rapidly urbanising world, and explore how to create smarter, more sustainable and resource-efficient communities.
The programme has strong partnerships with internationally renowned businesses, smaller companies and a network of start-ups, who actively participate in the programme to ensure it remains current and relevant to their needs – and to yours.
Partners are involved in curriculum design, internships, support for Master’s theses, and job opportunities. Experts from the private sector, municipalities and other government bodies also give guest lectures and even participate as jury members to assess students' entrepreneurial initiatives.
Specificities
Year 1
In the first year of the master's programme in Advanced Energy Systems and AI, you have the choice between KU Leuven in Belgium or KTH or Grenoble INP – Ense3.
A at Grenoble INP – Ense3, you will build a powerful, cross‑disciplinary skill set at the heart of tomorrow’s energy landscape. This programme immerses you in smart power systems, advanced energy conversion, data science, and digital‑energy technologies. You’ll dive into cutting‑edge topics such as smart‑power modelling and dispatch, dynamic‑system design and control, energy economics, computer science, smart grids, eco‑district development, and energy‑system sizing—equipping you to shape the future of sustainable energy.
Year 2
In your second year, you have the choices between 4 specialities in 4 european universities :
- KU Leuven in Belgium
- KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden
- UPC: Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Spain
- INP: Grenoble Institute of Technology in France
A Grenoble INP – Ense3 your will work on digital Intelligence for Future Energy Systems: explore how AI and digital technologies can support flexible and decentralised energy systems. You focus on areas including smart buildings, distributed energy resources, data centres, energy-management systems, ICT and digital twins, while also considering the ethical, social and environmental implications of AI in energy.
