Goal(s)
At the end of this course, students/apprentices will be able to :
- implement a sensor and the electronics required for its operation
- implement an actuator and the electronics required for its operation
- perform temporal and spectral analysis of an experimental signal
- apply a filter to a signal to enhance information of interest and improve a signal-to-noise ratio
Pierre GRANJON
Content(s)
Electronics basics: Acquisition - restitution chain, Sensor implementation, Basic electronics tools, Sensor conditioning, Pre-processing of electrical quantities, Output interfacing.
Signal processing basics: energy and average power of a signal, correlation functions and delay measurement, linear filtering and convolution, frequency representation of signals, modulation, sampling and Shannon's theorem.
3EUS1MAT Mathematics for Engineers
Normal session
CC : continuous assessment with lab works (50% of final grade)
- average of the marks for the signal processing lab works done in pairs (15% of the final grade)
- average marks for electronics lab works done in pairs (35% of final grade)
ET : final written exam of 3 hrs without documents EXCEPT one A4 handwritten sheet of paper (recto-verso) and calculator NOT allowed. (50% of final grade)
- 2h of signal processing (35% of final grade)
- 1h of electronics (15% of final grade)
----------------------------------------------------
Make-up session
The mark obtained replaces the ET mark. The CC mark cannot be made up.
All absences must be justified to the school when the student returns to school. Otherwise (unjustified absence, justification not validated by the Director of Studies, or justification received too late), a mark of zero will be awarded for the missed session.

- In the event of a return to a distance learning format due to the COVID-19 pandemic:
If the individual assessment ET cannot take place face-to-face at the school, it will be carried out remotely (online MCQ type), always on an individual basis.
If the school is closed, electronics design and signal processing practical work can be carried out remotely. Assessment methods remain unchanged (individual reports).
- In the event of a return to a distance learning format due to the COVID-19 pandemic:
ET 50% + CC 50%
