Goal(s)

Provide the essential concepts of mechanics of deformable solids, the parameters and main principles of the dimensioning of systems involving solid bodies.

Responsible(s)

Barthelemy HARTHONG

Content(s)

force, displacement, stress, strain, constitutive behaviour of a solid continuum, concept of elasticity, isotropy, linear elastic constitutive law, yield stress, methods for the resolution of boundary value problems

Prerequisites

Basics of mathematics - functions of several variables, partial derivatives, differential and integral calculus, Taylor series, linear algebra, 3D geometry

Test

2h exam (DS) + assignment (CC)Session 1
Final Exam (ET1): 2-hour written exam covering the course “Electrical Engineering and General Electricity.”
Continuous Assessment (CC1): grade for a group project on “electrical control equipment”; another criterion for course completion: attendance.

Session 2
Final exam (ET2): 2-hour written exam covering the course on electrical engineering and general electricity; the ET2 grade replaces the ET1 grade.
Continuous assessment: the grade (CC1) is carried over to Session 2; it cannot be made up.
