Goal(s)
One of the key tasks of an ense3 engineer is to design technical solutions under constraints, with the aim of satisfying the needs of society. Their aim is to achieve a technological optimum, guided by criteria of various kinds: economic, environmental, societal, political, etc.
In this sense, the ense3 engineer plays an interface role between the sciences and techniques he masters and the society to which he contributes.
The ability to design a solution to a technical problem requires, in particular, questioning needs and uses in order to draw up complete and precise specifications, taking into account a wide range of constraints, mastering the knowledge and tools needed to design technical solutions, and assessing the relevance of proposed solutions in relation to a set of indicators.

Content(s)
During their time at ense3, student engineers must define and organize their course so as to carry out a minimum of 30 hours of design work, alone or in pairs, without the possibility of combining these 30 hours in different teaching activities (e.g. 10h in 3 different teaching units). These 30 hours can, for example, be combined with a project/BE of lesser duration in the teaching model, but completed by personal work validated by the teacher in charge of the course.
PrerequisitesNo specific prerequisites
To validate your skills, you must :
- justify your self-positioning in relation to the level expected by the school, thanks to real-life work situations you will have experienced during your stay at Ense3,
- convince a jury that you are competent, through a reflective analysis of your skills development path.
To do this, you will draw on : - a skills report containing the evidence of your skills,
- an oral presentation during which you will defend this report at the end of your course.
The skills assessment defense is combined with the PFE defense to form a single “end-of-course defense”, lasting 40 min for the PFE and 20 min for the skills assessment.
Validation : validé ou non-validé
