Goal(s)

The objective of the course is to provide a comprehensive, systemic vision of socio-ecological issues from a historical perspective. At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Describe the current state of the Earth system in relation to the overcoming of planetary boundaries
  • Analyze its compatibility with Western lifestyles (consumption and production)
  • Explain the concept of the Anthropocene with a critical eye and propose alternatives
  • Present the World 3 model and analyze the trajectories proposed by this model
  • State the different energy/climate scenarios
  • Conduct a Carbon Footprint
