Goal(s)

This course focuses on numerical modeling/simulation and optimization algorithms;
All work is done on a computer.

Responsible(s)

Benoit DELINCHANT

Content(s)

Part 1: Computational Fluid Dynamics Modeling with ANSYS/Fluent
Part 2: Study of constrained optimization algorithms for structural design. Analysis of different types of methods based on the nature of the problem to be solved, and programming of several deterministic methods in 1D and then in 2D, with and without gradients. Students then undertake a project to design a photovoltaic system.

Prerequisites

Basic notions in computer science.
Courses of numerical methods (1A).

Test

Session 1
Continuous assessment (CC1) : 3 lab reports

Evaluation cannot be retaken
