Goal(s)
Define technical requirements based on the client requirements
Calulate the passive elements of the converter based on static equations
Design a boost converter from pre-design to a real prototype on a PCB
Modelling of the static and the dynamic behaviors of the boost converter
Pierre LEFRANC
Content(s)
This project premits the students to apply skills on power electronics for the design of a real converter.
The study of the converter begins with the design of capacitors and the inductance of the DC-DC converter and the choice of the PWM circuit. Heat-sinks and EMI problems are taken into account in the design process.
After the design step, the students make the layout and the physical prototype is tested: measurements are made to estimate the electrical constraints and the efficiency of the prototype.
PrerequisitesElectrical engineering and electronics seen in 1st and 2nd year
Continuous assessment (CC1) : attendance during the work with the professor
Final examination (ET1) : final report on the overall work
