    • Internship : -
    ECTS : 5.0
  • Officials : Pierre-Luc DELAFIN

Goals

These lectures will focus on the same object (component of nuclear plants) with different point of view. First, the geometrical description will be evoked. The design and physical analysis will be then described (hydraulic and flow simulation for nuclear applications). Finally, the component integration in the overall system (simulation for automatic control) will be detailed. Specific focus will be done on transitional system behavior to introduce topic of the next academic year on simulation for normal and accidental operation.

Content

  • Computer-aided design: technique for geometry description and component modeling
  • Hydraulic for nuclear plant: hydraulic of internal flows / hydraulic network / transient flows
  • Flows simulation: simulation of incompressible flows / pre- and post-processing
  • simulation of automatic control: transfer function / state approach / MATLAB

Prerequisites

fluid mechanics: physical analysis, integral relations, hydrostatics, head losses, turbulence modeling, wave propagation, elasticity /Basic on automatic control / numerical method / Basic on CAD code
