Goal(s)

The course is having several objectives. Making the students aware of fondamentals about:

  • HVDC structure and control of point to point as well as Multi Terminal stations (researcher from Supergrid Institute and G2Elab)
  • HVDC protection with protection scheme as well as circuit breakers (researcher from Supergrid Institute and G2Elab)
  • HVDC active components with sizing (research from Supergrid Institute and Ampere Laboratory)
  • HVDC modelling and simulation with EMTP labs (experts from RTE, French TSO)
  • HVDC components with the cable specificities (experts from Nexans)

Prerequisites

Basic knowledges from electrical engineering and power electronics

Test

1ère session/1st session
Evaluation non rattrapable (EN) / EN assessment : lab from EMTP
Evaluation rattrapable (ER) / ER assessment : examen écrit de 2h sur les parties théoriques du cours/ 2 hours written exam from the other theoretical parts
Deuxième session/ 2nd session
La note obtenue remplace la note de ER. Le contrôle continu n'est pas rattrapable. / Another written exam will replace the first one (ER). No retake for EN.

40% EN + 60% ER
