Goal(s)

Overall:

  • Completing the acquisition of the tools and concepts of engineering of water projects with an operational approach, multi-disciplinary and integrated if possible.

In details :

  • Strengthen the skills associated with the hydraulic works (channels, weirs, sluices, gates, various hydraulic devices ...) and resource management;
  • Strengthen the skills associated with the numerical modeling (hydraulic, structural, geotechnical)
  • Raise awareness through a practical approach, among torrential hydraulics and associated sediment transportation
  • Raise awareness among the job of project manager/ prime contractor on hydraulic works

Responsible(s)

Celine BOURGEOIS

Content(s)

  • Mini-project on resource management (design of a storage and effects of climate change)
  • Applied hydraulics Project (catchment Work or Upstream head breaker system)
  • Hydraulic torrential and associated sediment transport courses (+ visit)
  • Case study: prime contractor on hydraulic works
  • Numerical Modelling Project on unsteady state hydraulics (REA), and civil engineering works = structural and geotechnical (GHO)

Prerequisites

Common Part : Pressurized Flow Hydraulics , Open Channel steady-state Flow, underground Flow, Strength of Material, hydrology
REA Part : (Advanced Hydrology and unsteady-state Flowflows that are studied in the same semester)
GHO Part : geomechanics, structural mechanics (geotechnical structures that is studied in the same semester)
