Goal(s)
Learn methods and tools for multi-physical, multi-scale design of electrical systems, taking into account different criteria (via optimization, life cycle analysis (LCA), etc.). Learn languages, formalisms, methods and tools for electrical system analysis.
Responsible(s)
Laurent GERBAUD
Content(s)
- Design issues in today socio-economic context
-Introduction to design, characteristics of modeling tools, definition of the optimization problem; Sensitivity / Reliability / Robustness analysis; open energy modeling, as well as critical hindsight on modeling, and alternative designs. - Introduction to sustainable system design, absolute sustainability.
- Model reduction algorithms and methods (response surfaces, order reduction)
- Multi-criteria design
- Life cycle analysis
- design using constrained optimization methods
- which optimization algorithms to use
- how to model a device or system for optimization-based sizing
- single or multi-objective optimization (Pareto front)
- Sensitivity / Reliability / Robustness analysis
- Application to an electrical engineering device where technical, economic and material criteria (LCA) are evoked. A guided design office provides an overview of the methods and concepts described above.
- A design-dimensioning project on an electrical engineering application to apply the various concepts and methods presented. This project is designed to enable students to confront a real case, as project mode opens up a wide range of issues encountered by engineers in their design activities. The entire teaching team is called upon to adjust the supervision according to the students' progress.
This project represents around 1/3 of the module hours.
