Smart Grids Masters and GREEN Graduate School students travel to Italy

From October 21 to 24, students from the international Master’s program in Smart Grids and Buildings, along with the GREEN Graduate School, embarked on a memorable educational journey to Italy.

The first stop was at Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo) at the Power Electronic Innovation Center. Guided by Mariapia Martino and dedicated PhD students, the visit showcased the latest research projects and technological advancements in the field.

The journey continued to Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi), renowned for its creativity and technical expertise. Students had the opportunity to visit the Leonardo and Bovisa campus, where they explored a multi-energy microgrid and the storage and energy departments. Thanks to Marco Melo, Filippo Bovera, and Barbara Villa, lively discussions on energy solutions and sustainable technologies ensued.

The final highlight of the trip was Enlit Europe, an event that brought the students into the heart of Europe’s energy sector. The students participated in tailored meetings at the Think Smartgrids and EIT InnoEnergy hubs, gaining insights into the future of energy and technology.

The experience left the students inspired and eager to further explore the world of smart grids and sustainable energy.
