Become an expert user of advanced method for forecasting and prediction in hydrology.
Spillway design for large dams, nuclear plant platforms, etc...
Climatic change account in the design of long lasting hydraulic works.
Refined forecasting methods for optimisation of energy production and flood protection.

Content(s)

Physico-dynamico statistical models for prediction and forecasting.
Multivariable techniques: multiple correlation (orthogonal, ridge,...). Principal component analysis in space and time domain. Data reduction, network design, series reconstruction, Empirical Orthogonal Functions.
Rare flood estimation (103 to 104 return periods).Gradex method and extensions. Bayesian approach for model and sampling uncertainties in extreme event prediction.
Times series analysis in geophysics (trends, cycles, broken line process, fractals). Filtering of seasonal, diurnal components.
