General Mechanics (TC)

Informations générales

  • ECTS

    ECTS 2

Goal(s)

To consolidate knowledge of cinematic and dynamics acquired previously by the students and to apply it to real systems in operating condition. Then, to develop new concepts and tools based on the Principle of  Virtual Powers in order to be able to solve widely “commands” and systems vibrations problems.

Content(s)

1-Introduction and calculation of kinetic energy, involving Mathematical tools for Mechanics, material point and solid cinematic, kinetic concepts including mass geometry, kinetic “torseur” expression and kinetic energy calculation.
2- Fondamental Principle of the Dynamics (FPD), definition of force concept, definition of the dynamic “torseur”, expression of the FPD.
3-Analytical mechanics: Principle of Virtual Powers,  expression of the generalised parameters of a solid or of a system of solids in motion, expression of the Lagrange equations relative to the motion of system of solids, systems stability concepts,  linearization of motion equations,  vibrations.
