This course deals with dielectric materials used in electrical engineering with special emphasis on physical laws and characteristics associated to these dielectric materials and suitable applications.

This course focuses on some physical principles and characteristics associated to dielectric materials.
- Basis on insulated materials.
- Polarization effects generated by the electric field.
- Conduction and losses in dielectric materials.
- Partial discharges.
Case studies are examined to understand the behaviour of dielectric materials in Electrical Engineering applications.
