Goal(s)

Bring a practical know-how for the numerical simulation of fluid flows using CFD softwares (those available in the computer rooms of the engineering school which will also be used in the "Atelier de l'ingénierie" module).

Content(s)

- geometrical description techniques (bottom-up and top-down) and mesh generation techniques (2D & 3D, structured and unstructured)
- practical simulation of incompressible flows
- qualitative and quantitative post-processing

Prerequisites :
- Fluid mechanics (equations, phenomenology, concepts of boundary layer and turbulence)
- Numerical methods (finite volume, convective schemes)
- Basic knowledge of Linux system and computer networks
