Goals

The aim of this module is to provide basic knowledge of the power systems and the different users and in particular the unconventional and renewable productions such as photovoltaics, as well as various storage means to respond to new problems arising on the power systems.

    • Architectures of transmission and distribution networks
    • Voltage levels
    • Main components of the power systems
  • Key parameters of the power systems
    • Production-consumption relation, role of frequency, interconnections and storage
    • Relation between voltage and reactive power
    • Limits and constraints of the power systems components
  • lines theory
    • Line models (short, medium and long lines)
    • Line operating conditions
    • Voltage regulation
