Presentation of the monitoring and control tools for large civil engineering works

Content

In France, the dam monitoring is subject to laws and the contracting authority considerations that are responsible of the safety of their installation and of their production tool. Thus, monitoring these large civil engineering works is based both on highly frequent visual inspections of the structure and on the auscultation of very numerous parameters representing the work behaviour (displacement, pressure, flow,...). The auscultation uses measurement devices adapted to the specific requirements of these large works and also particular analysis and investigation methods to be able to make a sure diagnosis in real time and to study the structure evolution in the long term.
