Goals

Acquire fundamental knowledge concerning the soil and underground origin and description, in a engineer geological and geotechnics point of view.
Be able to:

  • identify, characterize and classify the natural materials (soils and rocks) and their implemented conditions
  • locate structures and discontinuities
  • interpret the basic documents of profile and geological map type
  • speak with professionnals

Content

Presentation of the geotechnics field
Geolog : genesis, structure and geological material alteration. Endogenous, exogenous and metamorphic rocks. Tectonics: fracture, break and pleating. Mineral alteration and degradation. Superficial formations.
