Goals

The practical works illustrate the phenomenons and the practical ascpects taught or discussed in the 2 courses: Fluid Mechanics and Materials Resistance. For Fluid Mechanics, students have a deeper understanding in the loss phenomenon in ducts and work also on a real hydraulic network.

Fluid Mechanics: Study of losses in laminar and turbulent flows. Introduction of the Reynolds number and identification of the transition. Getting evidence
a singular loss. Comparison of the laws of losses obtained with those of the bibliography. Descriptions of the main hydraulic components including valves, flow meters, pumps. Introduction to the regulation. Overall energy balance and calculating efficiency of a network.
