Goals

The objective of this practical works is to become familiar with electrical devices such as transformers and rotating electrical machines. The students have to confront the models studied in the courses and tutorial with the reality, analyze their validity, but also their limitations. It is also an introduction to PREDIS technological platform shared with research and industry.

Content

There are four practical works:

  • Synchronous machine operation as generator
  • Design of an industrial grid, studies in steady state and transient operations
  • The transformer
  • The electric machine perfect for control: the DC machine
    The work consists in making some wirings, carrying out measurements with their analysis and interpretation. At the end of each practical work a report is written by all groups.


Prerequisites

Basic electrical engineering courses.

Session 1 exam: report evaluation
Session 2 exam: No
