Goal(s)
To introduce the basic knowledge of rheology ; classification of the different types of flows and behaviour under flows. The emphasis is put on rheometry ie the different ways of characterizing matter with controlled flows. The goal is : being able to chose pertinent rheometric tests needed to describe the behaviour under flow of material

Lecture :18H
1. Reminder of continuum mechanics , Newton and Hooke models.
2. Description of the different pasty and fluid behaviour : Viscoelasticity, yield stress, thixotropy...
3. Rheometrical tests to characterize fluid materials : shear rheometry, elongational rheometry.
4. Description of flows : non-dimensional numbers
