Behaviour of geotechnical structures - 5EMHGOU

  • Number of hours

    • Lectures 12.0
    • Tutorials 8.0

    ECTS

    ECTS 1.5

Goal(s)

The aim of the course is to show how the global behaviour of geotechnical structures (at failure or under service loads) can be explained by the fundamental soil mechanisms and the local soil-structure interface behaviour.
The course will cover the classical analytical design methods, simplified numerical approaches and the advanced numerical approaches (such as FEM) considering different degrees of complexity of the soil constitutive models.
