Goal(s)

This course is centered on the description and formulation of common phenomena that condition the material behavior with hydraulic and thermal systems (turbine, pump, turbo-reactor,...)
For each type of solicitations (thermo-elastic and visco-elastic) the formulation of the macroscopic behavior is presented. Thus, it is about defining very common phenomena that must be systematically integrated during system analysis.
Finite element formulation is also presented, weak and strong formulation, matrix formulation for thermal and structural problems.
The students will use a finite element sofware and different models for mechanical problems will be presented

Reminder on the constraint and deformation tensor notions
Thermo-elasticity and limit criterion problem formulation, Navier and Beltrami
Visco-elasticty and limit criterion, flow, relaxation, dynamic behavior problem formulation

Finite element for 1-Dimensional problem, for 2-Dimensional problem (thermal and plane stress)

Training in structural softwareuse: different geometric models of structure analysis, modelling of boundary conditions, critical analysis and limit of results

Prerequisites

Notion of elasticity and beam theory.
