Goals

To prepare students for current and future nuclear issues:
fuel cycle (especially nuclear waste management),
new reactors (EPR reactor, on-board nuclear reactors, breeder reactors / Gen IV reactors, ITER),
Dismantlement / decommissioning of nuclear plants and nuclear power stations,
Advanced digital supervision (ADACS Software).

Content

Processes involved in upstream / downstream fuel cycle (extraction, PUREX vitrification ...), Modern techniques developed in decommissioning. Digital learning sessions on ADACS supervision software
Series of lectures on future nuclear reactors (embedded reactor EPR MSFR, ITER) and learning groups formed around Gen III or IV reactors



Prerequisites

Basic background in mechanics, nuclear physics, nuclear safety

Tests

2 scores with:
1 written examination of 3H,
1 talk (organized by groups of 2 - 3 students)



TD : visites (2h à Royce-Rolls, 8h à Marcoule, 4h à Creys-Malville)
BE : BE ATOS
TP : TP de réacteurs
Attention : programmation au cordeau à respecter (visites, intervenants extérieurs)
