This optional course is addressed to ENSE3 students in six-month period 5. He is proposed to the students of all the dies (except for IEN die). It presents a panorama of the civilian nuclear in France and his first finality : to produce electricity and to contribute to the adjustments of tension and frequency on the inter-connected network. It facilitates obtaining a Final Study Project and even a job in the nuclear power industry.

Content

Nuclear energy with respect to the energy stakes ; Civilian nuclear history ; Reactor families ; Concepts of neutronics ; Concepts of radiation protection ; operation principles for the pressurized water reactors (in France); Nuclear safety and French laws and rules ; Control in degraded situation ; Organization in the event of a nuclear crisis ; Nuclear fuel cycle ; Metallic materials of the nuclear circuits ; … This course includes one afternoon (7 hours equivalent-TP) devoted to the visit of an EDF (producing or dismantling) nuclear plant.

Prerequisites

Admission with the ENSE3 as a student Erasmus, or an admission of the student in the six-month period S5 in one of the dies of the ENSE3 (except for the IEN die).

Each one of the ten CM are followed of a TD ; at this end of these ten afternoons, a continuous assessment is carried out.
The TPNE make it possible to complete a personal work or a work in a group ; this work is followed (final DS) by the handing-over of a report or a slide show presented in front of the whole of the students. The continuous assessment and the final DS count each one for 0.5 in the final note allotted to the student.
